Purple Flag award
Looking after our residents is one of the most important things we do, and I’m delighted that this has been recognised with the town being awarded Purple Flag status recently. This is granted to town and city centres that meet or surpass the standards of excellence in managing the evening and nighttime economy (ENTE), and marks the efforts of businesses and stakeholders including the Council, Reading BID and Thames Valley Police to create a safe night experience with public wellbeing as its foundation. We’re proud to be a part of that and hope it inspires confidence in residents and visitors to enjoy everything Reading has to offer in the evenings.
